Vintage 1960s paisley dress
This simple but sweet vintage 1960s paisley dress (originally a house or night dress) has a super groovy and eye-catching pattern. Made by US brand Sears Roebuck & Co, the dress has a free-flowing, A-line shape and appears to have possibly been a maternity or nursing dress, given that it has press-stud buttons on either shoulder which would have allowed for breastfeeding. For a more structured look, you can pull it in at the waist with a statement belt, as I have done in the pictures. Either way, I think the pattern is beautiful and screams mid-century chic. The only flaw spotted is a small orange mark on the rear of the dress (see picture).
Material: 50% polyester, 50% cotton
Dress front width measurements when garment is laid flat (for the entire measurement, double the dimensions):
Bust: 48cm (19 inches)
Hips: 55cm (22 inches)
Length from shoulder to hem: 93cm (36.5 inches)
Best suits a modern Australian size 10 or 12
Please note, I’m modelling this one and in this picture, I was a size 10 with a D cup bust. I’m only 148cm tall (approx. 4’11”) so if you are average or tall in height, please take that into consideration, as it will fall shorter on you.
