This divine sequin vintage beaded 1960s cream top would hark back to the mid century when these beaded tops were very popular and de rigueur for women of the era. The outer shell is completely decorated with sequins and a pattern of dangling beads, including to the full circumference of the hemline. There are only a handful of sequins missing from the entire garment (to be expected given that it could be 60 years old) but considering its age, this piece is in fabulous condition. A zipper runs the full length of the back to allow you to slip this on and off. The lining is all in still in place with only minor discolouration. Be the talk of the evening when you step out in this rare beauty, or it could equally work in a daytime setting with a dressed-down approach.
Material: Wool knit embellished with sequins and beads. Inside is fully lined.
Will best fit an Australian modern-day Australian size 10, 12 or 14 – but please check measurements
Measurements: (when laid flat)
Bust: 107cm (42 inches) as indicated on original tag
Length, from shoulder to hem: 61cm (24 inches)
Please note, I’m modelling this one and in this picture, I was a size 10 with a D cup bust. The top still had some give on me around the bust and waist. I’m only 148cm tall (approx. 4’11”) so if you are average or tall in height, please take that into consideration, as this top will fall differently on you.
